Silvia Christopher, Senior Associate, GSK Stockmann, Berlin
I’m really not a morning person. So I need a little peace and quiet at home in the morning, a cup of coffee and enough time to at least skim the paper.
My area of practice is broad and highly diverse, especially as I work both as a lawyer and in the notary’s office. As a lawyer, I usually have meetings or telephone conferences scheduled and I also need to draft expert opinions, memos, pleadings or, depending on the state of the case, pleadings for an action, application or reply. In the notary’s office, I’m mostly preparing drafts of notarial deeds and coordinating with the parties involved. I work with all kinds of documents ranging from real estate purchase agreements, property development agreements, family and inheritance law agreements to all the various documents a company and its shareholders may require, such as partnership and shareholding agreements, capital increases, (cross-border) mergers and (identity-preserving) cross-border relocations of registered offices, etc.
The whole package: flexible working hours, interesting assignments, appreciation for what I do and great colleagues.
especially in the notary’s office, be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and be interested in distilling even highly complex issues into regulations that are as simple as possible.
Supportive, demanding, cooperative.
I try to keep active. Swimming in particular is a great way to combine exercise and chatting with friends. Otherwise, I love reading – the less the books have to do with law, the better I can switch off.
